I remember looking at a picture book of dinosaurs with my older brother Robert when I was about five years old. More

We used to call him Dino-boy behind his back because he was obsessed with prehistoric animals; at home he was our resident paleontologist. Anyway, we were looking at this picture of some supposedly ferocious predator, and Robert's comment was – "yeah, this one's really fast.." As I looked at it, it kind of reminded me of one of our neighbors who didn't get a lot of exercise. "It doesn't look too fast", I said. Rob laughed. Until paleoartist Jan Sovak came along dinosaurs looked incredibly stodgy and slow! The fright-factor was at a minimum because most of them, despite their enormous size, looked lethargic and out-of-shape. Well, check out this collection with that in mind—not a slacker in the lot of them! All of the old favorites are there: Tyrannosaurus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Velociraptor, Diplodocus— and lots that you may never have seen before—Seismosaurus, Albertosaurus, the dreaded Dromaeosaurus, and many more! The collection features 232 color and black & white images, many of which are vignettes, and there are lots of beautiful color tableaux.
